The manufacturers and originators of Tricide Neo have gone “back to the drawing board” looking for new ways to combat the emergence of bacteria that show resistance to most of the commonly used antibiotics we use in ornamental fish medicine.
Tricide Neo was amazing.
But it lacked some things: There was nothing about it to soothe the skin. There was nothing about it to make it a safer bath especially if the solution stood open for a little while. And there was nothing to really push the “kill rate” when applied to the most resistant germs.
So the manufacturers in Athens, Georgia returned to the laboratory and improved Tricide, coming back with Tricide ULTRA which may be the most effective treatment for superficial bacterial infections in Koi and other aquatic species, when combined with the best medicated foods.
No doubt that in more than half of these cases, injections of antibiotics would be superior to reach deeper infections but that is not available to most hobbyists.
